Oncology Massage Therapy In Central London
Safe, informed massage therapy during and after cancer treatment.
What is Oncology Massage?
Oncology massage is massage therapy adapted for people living with cancer — whether you're in active treatment, recovering from surgery, or years into remission.
It's not a lighter massage. It's not just "being gentle." It's understanding how cancer and its treatments affect the body, and knowing how to work with that safely. That means understanding the effects of chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery, and medication. It means knowing when to adjust pressure, when to avoid certain areas, and when massage isn't appropriate at all.
Done properly, oncology massage can help with pain and muscle tension, fatigue and sleep, anxiety and emotional overwhelm, scar tissue and restricted movement, lymphatic issues and swelling, and the general feeling of wanting your body to feel like yours again.
It's not a cure. It's support — physical, emotional, and human.
Who is this for?
You don't need to be at a particular stage to benefit. I work with people who've just been diagnosed and are about to start treatment, people mid-chemotherapy or radiotherapy who need relief, people recovering from surgery — mastectomy, lumpectomy, reconstruction, or any other procedure, people in remission who are trying to rebuild their relationship with their body, and people living with cancer long-term who want ongoing support.
If you're not sure whether massage is safe for you right now, ask. I'd rather have the conversation than have you sit at home wondering.
My Training
I'm trained in integrative oncology massage in London with Susan Findlay and certified through PINC for early stage cancer rehabilitation. I've studied how cancer treatment affects the body — not just the obvious things, but the stuff that doesn't always get talked about: tissue changes from radiotherapy, peripheral neuropathy from chemo, fatigue that doesn't lift, scars that don't settle.
I also trained in ScarWork with Emma Holly, the UK's leading scar therapy educator, so I can work with surgical scars as part of your treatment — not as a separate thing.
I'm happy to liaise with your medical team if needed. You don't have to navigate what's safe on your own.
What To Expect
Your first session starts with a conversation. I need to understand where you are — what treatment you've had, what you're going through now, what's bothering you, what you need. This isn't a tick-box form. It's a proper intake so I can tailor the session to you.
The massage itself is adapted to your body on that day. That might mean avoiding certain areas, adjusting pressure, working around a port or a drain, or just giving you space to rest. Some sessions are focused and specific. Some are about letting your nervous system settle. It depends on you.
You'll leave with a body that feels more like yours. That's the goal.
Is It Safe?
Yes — when it's done by someone who knows what they're doing.
There are a lot of myths about massage and cancer. You might have been told to avoid it entirely, or that it's dangerous, or that it can "spread" cancer. That's outdated and largely untrue. The evidence supports massage as a safe and beneficial part of cancer care when delivered by a trained therapist.
That said, there are times when massage needs to be modified or postponed — during certain phases of treatment, after specific procedures, or when blood counts are low. I'll always ask the right questions and err on the side of caution. If I'm not sure, I'll check with your medical team before we proceed.
ScarWork After Cancer Surgery
If your scar is from cancer surgery — mastectomy, lumpectomy, reconstruction, port insertion, or anything else — I can work with that too. ScarWork is gentle, effective, and often helps with tightness, numbness, and restricted movement that lingers long after healing.
I don't treat scars as separate from the rest of you. If you're coming for oncology massage and your scar is part of the picture, we'll work with it.

Book or ask a question
If you're not sure whether oncology massage is right for you, or whether it's safe given where you are in treatment, just ask. No pressure, no obligation. I'd rather answer your questions than have you wonder.
